Job title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Islington

Setting: Mainstream Secondary School

Pay rate: £75 – £95 per day (Depending on experience)

Working hours: 8:30 – 16:00 (Term time only)

Active Recruitment are working with a highly reputable Secondary school in the Islington area who are recruiting for an experienced Learning Support Assistant to work alongside pupils in the classroom who may require behavioural support. They children may have ASD, ADHD and SEMH, and will require additional emotional or physical support throughout the lesson. If you are a patient, understanding and calm individual who has a passion to help children with complex needs succeed academically, this would be an excellent opportunity for yourself.

Duties and responsibilities

• Supporting an SEN pupil on a 1:1 basis in the classroom
• Work on differentiated activities with groups of students
• Liaise with the SENCO/Inclusion manager to deliver SEN provision
• Developing social/emotional skills (depending on individual need)
• Working with teachers to monitor progress of pupils
• Help children understand instruction and maintain focus and engagement
